gets the prize for Best car in show
during British Car Week
from Chris Greenwood.

 

The finest cars . . .

Chris Greenwood, H M Consul General in Gothenburg, attended the British Car Week Rally and delivered honorary prizes at his own choise.

He choosed these three cars:


Riley Drophead Coupé

Best in show
this Riley Drophead Coupé from 1950.
The car belongs to Ingvar Persson in Varberg,
who's been carefully renovating the cars during 15 years.



 

Jaguar E-type

Second best in show Jaguar E-type belonging to Christer Ringlund.



MGA

Third best in show - MGA from 1959 belonging to Hansi Borgström, and run by his wife Irene with co-driver Lena Rundström. Hansi himself was working at one of the practical tests during the rally.



. . . and the best teams

Derek Crabb, left, is developing engines at Volvo in Gothenburg and used to work for Rover. He gave the prizes to the best teams in the rally. On the picture also Paul Adkin. He too is developing engines at Volvo.

 

1. Rickard Arnbrink with wife Gwenda won the first prize. The were driving their Rover 2200TC.

 

2. Gunnar Eriksson in a Lotus Elan +2.

 


3. Third prize to Hans Svensson in a Mini. Prize-giver Derek Crabb is assisted by the Rover Club of Swedens webmaster Bosse Arnholm.
